Story

PLEASE READ THIS PROFILE AND THE REQUESTED CRITERIA BEFORE CALLING OR SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION. THANKS FOR YOUR ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATIONTHIS IS JETT…and yes, he is jet black and cute all over! This 4 yr old, 14.5 lb, gorgeous pup is either a Havanese or Lhasa mix. He is a little slight to be a Lhasa, but Havanese rescue says probably a mix. Doesn’t matter to us…does it matter to you? Whatever he is, we think he’s great! Jett was found in a crate at the entrance to Mile Square Park with food and water 🙁 and picked up by the OC Animal Shelter. We don’t know his back story, but it couldn’t have been great. When he first arrived, he was in a lot of pain but we didn’t know it. He was growling at the other dogs and was not a happy camper — was very food possessive and cranky! We only found out when he went PP and it was full of blood! We thought he might have stones, but labs and xrays proved otherwise — just a bad UTI. He does get a little leash reactive SOMETIMES on a walk and will be protective if he doesn’t know you (with strangers and men) but once he knows you, he’s a lover. Now that he is healthy, Jett is a fantastic pup! He loves to chase toys (even sometimes carries them around), give kisses, ride in the car and steal treats! Jett walks well on the leash and loves his walks! His first day at his foster home he couldn’t hold his PP, which is understandable considering his condition. A few days passed, he is accident free and seems to do his business outside — but no guarantees at your house!! He loves to cuddle, get belly rubs — kind of goes into Nirvana when he is getting them! Jett definitely wants to be with you, so he should go to a home where you work from home or can take him along…or he might enjoy having a female canine companion to hang with. Jett is pretty active, and very sweet, so his home should be active and sweet!! Does that sound like your home? Our website is updated daily. Please do not apply for this dog unless your home fits the specified criteria. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, groomed, vet checked, dewormed, deflea'd and come with a leash, collar and IDIf you are interested in adopting a pup from Lhasa Happy Homes, please complete the Adoption Application before calling. Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring pictures or video of your home and yard if we have not done a home check (preferred)!
